To stop damage from pests and other debris, it's important to keep up a monthly routine of proper maintenance. Cleaning and clearing away any debris from your TPO roof should be done on a regular basis. As a result, the roof will remain white and keep its cooling and reflective qualities.
Maintaining clean gutters will help prevent obstructions. In order to address the drainage issues that many flat roofs have, this is crucial. Every time your roof is cleaned, the flashing should also be examined and fixed as necessary to avoid leaks.
The weather in your area, amount of rain, pitch of your roof, and the wind conditions all have a role in how frequently your TPO roof needs servicing.
1. Curbs, penetrations, and other potential entry points should be sealed off before cleaning a TPO roof.
2. Use a pressure washer with 2,000 PSI or less to rinse the surface.
3. With a soft bristle push broom and a TPO-safe, non-abrasive roof cleaning solution, clean the roof in portions. Push the debris you washed off towards the direction of the drain.
4. Use the pressure washer to thoroughly rinse the cleaning agent off.
5. Repeat steps 3–4 as necessary if the roof is still unclean.
6. Check for any damage to the TPO membrane. Examine the transitions and seams between the membrane and other roof components.
